Counselling

A Better Approach.

Many people use counselling as a means to process experiences, thoughts and feelings, as well as learn strategies to manage various challenges. However, for some, the thought of speaking to a counsellor can seem pretty daunting. We strive to make counselling a safe and enjoyable experience with the presence of our friendly therapy dogs. We use evidenced based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy in our sessions. At times, we also incorporate elements of Play Therapy in our sessions to help clients express feelings, develop relationships and resolve psychosocial problems.

Testimonials

“At his first session, John received a very warm welcome from Maureen and Telly The Dog.  That immediately brought all of John’s walls down and it did not take long for him to warm up to Maureen and Telly.  Indeed, with Telly being around, John was less self-conscious and that certainly helped him to let his guard down and freely open up to Maureen.  We were so glad to have made the right choice.”
