Maureen is a US trained Therapist who works with children, teenagers and adults on a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem and anger. She also provides coaching for parents and families on managing conflicts and challenges at home. She is attuned to cultural sensitivities and has worked with clients of varying nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
Maureen utilises evidence-based techniques during her sessions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy. In addition, she is a pioneer in the field of animal assisted therapy in Singapore and often works alongside her canine co-therapists to bring insights that change the way people think, behave and feel.
Maureen was trained at the University of Denver and the International Institute of Animal Assisted Play Therapy. She has a plethora of experience working with individuals, groups and organizations in Singapore and the United States of America. She is the first in Singapore to include the use of Therapy Dogs in Counselling sessions, and has been featured for her pioneering work on numerous occasions on Television, Radio and Print.
Maureen is a faculty member of the University of Denver, and is registered with the Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (Singapore) as a Certified Master Practitioner.
